What the abundance goddesses Abundantia and Yemanya can teach you about connecting with your soul

Welcome to the 6th blog in the soul blog celebration series.  For this blog series, I have been sharing a variety of Sacred Spirit Journeys, all containing wise messages from spirit, to inspire and guide you to connect with your soul and live a soulful life.

For today’s blog, I first consulted the Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards, asking which goddess could help us connect with our soul. Two goddesses came forward – both abundance goddesses: Yemanya, whose card ‘jumped’ out of the deck, and Abundantia, which was the card I drew.

Meeting the goddesses in a Sacred Spirit Journey

I sometimes like to go more in depth after drawing the cards, and ask for further insights and information by doing a Sacred Spirit Journey after drawing the cards. That is also what I did this time. As I prepare for the journey, I feel drawn within. The light doesn’t come from without, but from within. As I allow that light to shine and expand, the light doesn’t just fill me, but places me in or expands into a spirit landscape I’m familiar with from many previous journeys. I am walking along the beach with my spirit guide, and he says:

“Connecting with your soul is best done by going within. As you said yourself, it’s an ‘allowing’ rather than a ‘doing’. As you allow your light to shine and expand, the beauty of your soul will reveal itself to you.”

We are walking towards the west. We see a woman coming out of the sea on our right. There are sea creatures around and nearby her. It’s the goddess Yemanya. She approaches smiling, and says:

“Let the sea be a guide for you back to your soul. Deal with life’s challenges and opportunities as the waves teach you. Receive what comes, use it, learn from it, and release it with gratitude.

Abundance and prosperity is a birthright – something you allow, not something you get handed or work hard for. While work usually is involved, it’s not so much the working itself but the shift inside that prepares the way for you.

Move into a place of faith and receptivity, and prepare to receive the bounty and opportunities that are coming your way.

When you get in the flow of receiving and releasing, you let go of fear and move into faith. Living in faith is being connected with your soul.”

Marianne: “Thank you. What about Abundantia. What has she got to tell me – and why two abundance goddesses?” Then I notice to our left – coming from in land – the goddess Abundantia, come walking with her cornucopia, greeting us and pouring out golden coins in my hands. Abundantia:

“I’ve come to walk beside you, paving a golden path for you. You have asked, and I am here.

Whereas Yemanya is especially about receiving and releasing to connect with your soul, I am the guide who walks beside you, blessing you with good luck and the riches of the Earth.

I have come because you’re ready to move into your abundant self, and to remind you to be vigilant and let go of limiting beliefs. Limiting beliefs about yourself and abundance keep you from living a soulful life.

Living a soulful life and being connected with your soul is not just a spiritual thing, it is also opening up to the abundance that life has for us. As you do, you will not only open up to the riches of the earth but also to the riches of your soul – of embracing the soul gifts that are yours and that you need to share with the world.

If any part of you is restricted, you’re not fully connected with your soul.

Accept and embrace the whole of who you are, and your soul will thrive.

Embracing abundance and seeing themselves as abundant, is an issue and stumbling block to many, especially spiritual people. Spirituality and abundance do not need to be opposites.

Walk with me in gratitude and appreciation and abundance is yours.”

Marianne: “What one thing can we do today to open up to their teachings?” Spirit guide:

“You know already:

• Practice gratitude

• Express your appreciation.

That’s it.”

I thank my spirit guide and end the journey.
