A way to access your Inner Sanctuary

Stillness - Marianne Soucy, Give Your Dream Wings On our path through life, animals and spirit guides can be of great support, especially to those of us who are striving to lead a heart-centered life, where our actions in the world are based on a deep connection to our true self and to spirit. In this article I will share a Sacred Spirit Journey I did where I asked my spirit guides for help be connected with an animal who has a message for those who are struggling to manifest their dream.

As I begin the journey, for a moment I feel lost or unsure where to go. Then in ‘real life’ my cat Little Dab comes. Her showing up at this particular time is not a coincidence. Most of the time, she’s resting in her own inner world, so when she reaches out like this, it’s an honor. She comes up on my lap and settles down. I open my heart, and say to her:

“Hi Little Dab, I’m so happy you came to me. Is it you who has a message for us today?”

She responds by “pulling” me into her inner landscape. We move through a big, horizontal tunnel. The opening is very big. Behind us in the cave/tunnel are crystals and the sound of water running.

Little Dab -Marianne SoucyLittle Dab says: “I’m taking you on my journey now”. She steps out into the landscape, boldly and confidently; behavior she seldom exhibits in real life. I follow her. A big white horse comes, and Little Dab jumps up on horse’s back. I sit behind her with my spirit guide there too.

It’s a beautiful summer day. The landscape around us is one of grass, trees, low hills.

“Why are we here?”, I ask.

“I want to show you my peace”, Little Dab says.

On our way we pass by cranes dancing, a monk peacefully walking, a tiger in the distance, and a little stone altar on the ground.

We reach a temple. Little Dab enters first through the big open doorway with an air of confidence and a sense of familiarity. We enter into a big, spacious room filled with natural light. We walk towards the back of the room, and there we find an opening to a kind of terrace which is next to a lake. There are trees around. It is a place of stillness, peace and beauty.

Little Dab jumps up on a soft chair and lies down facing the lake. I sit down as well. In front of us the peaceful lake and behind the stillness of the meditation hall.

Little Dab says:

“Enter the peace and stillness to get healing, insight and guidance on your path. Your dream is not reached by frantic doing but from inspired action taken from the stillness within. You all have access to an inner sanctuary like this. Use it like I do. Make it a priority in your life. That’s what I am here to show you.”

She settles back into her familiar stillness as she observes the lake and our surroundings. A monk comes quietly and places two bowls in front of us, bows and quietly leaves again. I send a silent thank you. I drink the tea in my bowl and close my eyes for a moment, letting myself enter the peace of Little Dab and her surroundings. Thoughts of what I should do, feelings of self-blame and worry cause pain, but are released into the stillness as I allow Little Dab’s stillness to be the primary focus. They are just thoughts; the peace Little Dab surrounds me with is a reflection of my own true nature.

Goddess of Compassion

Little Dab jumps down and walks back into the room and leads me to the wall where I see a statue of the goddess of compassion, and further down a statue of buddha. We go outside the main entrance again, and horse is waiting for us. We greet horse and get back up on its back. A monk comes, my spirit guide smiles and gives him a gift. A big bowl of fruit.

The monk gives us a gift in return. I open my hand and he places a large beautiful, sparkling blue diamond in my hand. As he does this he says:

“The preciousness of your infinite self, like the infinite blue sky – it is by connecting with your infinite self you will find peace, healing and guidance. Open your mind and let your thoughts go, and let the stillness guide you to the core of your being. Peace is the way and the goal.”

He bows and leaves. We ride back, into the tunnel and back to ‘ordinary reality’ where Little Dab is sleeping on my lap. I thank her, my spirit guide, horse and monk and end the journey.

A note:
Sacred Spirit Journeys are not religious, but figures usually connected with religions may show up in journeys to bring an feeling, experience or energy related to that figure: in this case compassion and peace.
